Your best self, Now: All about cosmetic acupuncture

Turning back time isn’t the goal.

Embracing life (and our appearance) as it is, right now, by enhancing the best parts is what it’s all about.

What if you could get a subtle face “lift” or heal your skin with no surgery, no drugs, no chemicals, no recovery time, and experience only incredible side effects like better sleep and mood?

The answer is: cosmetic acupuncture. Cosmetic acupuncture uses your own body's Qi (energy/oxygen) and blood to achieve lasting, visible results. The best part? It really works.

It’s not too good to be true. It’s just true.

I invite you to discover a beauty secret used by Chinese nobility for thousands of years. You, too, can harness this time-honored wisdom to reclaim a radiant and youthful appearance through this safe, pain-less and non-surgical method of reducing and slowing the signs of aging.

(Disclaimer: results may vary, and are not guaranteed.)

What is cosmetic acupuncture?

Cosmetic acupuncture is a non-invasive, non-toxic treatment to boost your body's natural healing abilities and support graceful aging. It is a safe alternative to surgical procedures and injections, with no down-time and no side effects (except possibly very minimal and miniscule bruise(s) that disappear in days). Tiny needles are inserted into specific points on the face (over 100 needles!) and on the body to support overall health and boost your natural beauty.

What are the benefits of cosmetic acupuncture?

Cosmetic acupuncture is a wonderful, holistic approach to slow the physical aging aging process and offers a safe, effective, and proven method of treatment to:

  • Minimize fine lines and wrinkles

  • Reduce the development of deeper lines

  • Decrease puffiness under the eyes

  • Firm facial muscles

  • Lift drooping eyelids

  • Provide a consistently smoother and brighter face

  • Increased production of elastin and collagen

  • Moisturize skin

  • Improve blood circulation

  • Tighten and lift the neck area

  • Improve complexion

  • Improve muscle tone to prevent further wrinkles and aging

Additionally, all treatments include body-balancing acupuncture points and as a result, you may also experience:

  • Better sleep

  • Improved energy

  • Improved digestion

  • Decreased anxiety and depression

  • Better mood and sense of well-being

  • Relief from tension and pain (neck, back, etc)

While not a replacement for cosmetic surgery, cosmetic acupuncture is an excellent alternative because:

    • It is natural.

    • It is a cost-effective way to look and feel younger. Less costly than surgery or Botox injections.

    • Virtually painless.

    • It is safer and has no side effects or risks of disfigurement, unlike surgery or Botox.

    • There is no physical trauma and no down-time from cosmetic acupuncture.  Unlike surgery, where there may be extended recovery periods with swelling, discoloration, and a chance of infection.

How does it all work? Tell me like I’m a third-grader

In Chinese Medicine terms, the cosmetic facial acupuncture brings qi (energy) and blood to the face to lift and sculpt facial features and muscles, which in turn increases vitality and a youthful glow.

In Western medical terms, the tiny facial acupuncture needles cause microtraumas in the dermis layer of the skin, where collagen and elastin production takes place. The microtraumas tell your body to direct fibroblasts (a type of cell that contributes to the formation of connective tissue) to produce more collagen and elastin. (Contrary to what you may have been told by cosmetic companies, cosmetic products containing collagen do not produce collagen. It’s just not possible as the molecules are too big and simply sit on the surface of the skin. These products may give you a plumper, more moisturized appearance but do nothing to affect the deeper layers of skin.)

Ok, so both those explanations were a bit higher than third-grade level. In short, cosmetic acupuncture harnesses your body’s innate healing abilities to produce the building blocks of healthy and more youthful skin. The power is already IN you, isn’t that wild?

Lastly, we live in a society that is obsessed with youth, and not so much with aging gracefully, although the tide is shifting (thankfully!) with some wise public women leading the way. As with any wellness-related service or product, I encourage you to think deeply about the inner work that may be required as you move along the path of accepting the physical markers of the passage of time. Cosmetic acupuncture is simply a tool to enhance our natural beauty while doing just that inner work.

Age-related changes to skin:

As we age, stores of collagen and elastin decrease, resulting in fine lines, wrinkles and sagging. Facial acupuncture can encourage increased production of collagen and elastin, resulting in a more youthful appearance.
